The X/Stop Project was formed for three primary purposes: to give back, to network locally, and to educate. We've done a lot of networking, which was essential to form a core group. And I must say, I'm really excited about those we've recruited to be involved in our group...we have some of the best up and coming talent in the area, and some of the most FUN people I've ever met! We've also done some giving back through our Pictures in the Park event and our "Let's Go to the Grocery Store" book for autistic children. NOW, it's time to break out some informal education to fulfill our third purpose. I know a lot of you have been inquiring about this, so I'm excited we're finally able to offer it! When I first started in photography about ten years ago, I was 100% self taught. And the biggest mystery to me was HOW to get a correct exposure in manual mode. What now seems relatively simple seemed like a really daunting task at the time. If only I'd had someone who was willing to sit down and SHOW me how it worked!! I would be light years ahead of where I am now. I could have skipped a lot of frustration! Well, that's what we'd like to offer those of you who share our goals and visions. Those of us who know want to show those of you who might still have questions. We'll let you decide which category you fit into: if you're willing to share knowledge or if you know you just need to learn. Of course, we all know we have lots to learn, but we're talking about basic exposure of natural light. If you shoot in manual, you have knowledge to share that others are seeking. Let's just get together and see what we can do to help each other out a little! WHERE: Battell Park, Mishawaka, IN WHEN: September 8th, 6:30pm - 8:00pm HOW: We'll just divide up the learners by the number of those willing to share and go from there! BRING: Your camera, lenses, and memory cards! RSVP: SIGN UP!!! Respond to the forum post or email me at
