Ok, guys! It's about time for another group photo shoot!!! I have found an amazing location that I KNOOOOW you're going to be excited to shoot in! Details: Saturday, April 11th from 10am to 3pm at the State Theater in South Bend. We'll break for lunch at noon and reassign models after lunch so that everyone gets to switch it up a little.
We have a lot of people interested in this shoot so we're going to need to be a little more structured than usual. This is how this is going to work:
1) You can sign up on different levels:
Level 1: Be a mentor...allow some of those who are not comfortable working with a model one-on-one to shoot over your shoulder and ask you questions about what you're doing.
Level 2: Freelance. You will have your own model at all times to wander around and work with and at lunch break we'll switch it up, so you'll actually photograph 2 models.
Level 3: Starter. You can sign up to shoot over the shoulder of a more experienced photographer. You can watch how they pose, ask questions about exposure, and shoot along side them but you may NOT use the images for your own portfolio.
We're asking that everyone make a $15-$20 donation to help the building owners out with utility expenses...it costs an arm and a leg to heat and light that massive place! Lunch is not included in this donation...we'll probably all walk to a downtown restaurant and get lunch or order pizza.
I will need a firm commitment and your donation no later than April 3rd so that I can arrange for enough models for everyone! It would also be helpful if you'd tell me what kind of model you'd like to work with...for instance, wedding couple, male, female, senior, adult, or child...use this as an opportunity to work on some indoor and natural lighting techniques and new ideas without the pressure of a customer's expectations! Christi Nelson
P.S. All models will be compensated by receiving free digital files from your session with them so it is CRUCIAL that we get those files turned in for distribution in a timely manner! This will be a firm requirement and failure to do so could result in being banned from such events in the future. When asking for models in the future, we don't want to be known for failure to follow through with our means of compensation so it's very important.
