This event is for X/Stop members only.
Hi guys. This may be the last outdoor activity we do before winter comes so be sure to mark your calendars. The event will be a fun-filled afternoon of portraits so bring your cameras as we'll all be taking portraits of each other and use some of them on our websites, blogs, facebook, etc. I think every website needs a good picture of the photographer, so this is a great chance to get one and to provide one.
Not only that, but the second part of this photoshoot is to get some cool and creative group shots of photographers that we can feature on our website. So your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to come and get as many cool headshots and group shots, and at the same time come away with at least one good headshot of yourself.
At the end of the shoot, we'll transfer cards and upload to our Smugmug gallery where you can download the original copies for free.
So come prepared. A few quick tips: have your hair and make up done beforehand, bring layers or anything fashionable, and avoid solid whites!
Place: Battell Park, Mishawaka, IN. We'll start there, but probably move on to Beutter or Kamm Island. Date: Sunday, October 18 Time: 3pm-5pm
In case of rain, bring an umbrella. We'll still shoot! |

The X/Stop Project was formed for three primary purposes: to give back, to network locally, and to educate. We've done a lot of networking, which was essential to form a core group. And I must say, I'm really excited about those we've recruited to be involved in our group...we have some of the best up and coming talent in the area, and some of the most FUN people I've ever met! We've also done some giving back through our Pictures in the Park event and our "Let's Go to the Grocery Store" book for autistic children. NOW, it's time to break out some informal education to fulfill our third purpose. I know a lot of you have been inquiring about this, so I'm excited we're finally able to offer it! When I first started in photography about ten years ago, I was 100% self taught. And the biggest mystery to me was HOW to get a correct exposure in manual mode. What now seems relatively simple seemed like a really daunting task at the time. If only I'd had someone who was willing to sit down and SHOW me how it worked!! I would be light years ahead of where I am now. I could have skipped a lot of frustration! Well, that's what we'd like to offer those of you who share our goals and visions. Those of us who know want to show those of you who might still have questions. We'll let you decide which category you fit into: if you're willing to share knowledge or if you know you just need to learn. Of course, we all know we have lots to learn, but we're talking about basic exposure of natural light. If you shoot in manual, you have knowledge to share that others are seeking. Let's just get together and see what we can do to help each other out a little! WHERE: Battell Park, Mishawaka, IN WHEN: September 8th, 6:30pm - 8:00pm HOW: We'll just divide up the learners by the number of those willing to share and go from there! BRING: Your camera, lenses, and memory cards! RSVP: SIGN UP!!! Respond to the forum post or email me at
